Do it yourself, or:
How little does the celebrant have to do?

A Civil Marriage Celebrant is obliged by
law to say only 76 words:
"I am duly authorized by law to solemnize
marriages according to law.
"Before you are joined in marriage in
my presence and in the presence of these
witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn
and binding nature of the relationship into
which you are now about to enter.
"Marriage, according to law in Australia,
is the union of a man and a woman to the
exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered
into for life."
Beyond this you can design your own wedding
as you choose. You can write your own vows,
and the bride and groom need not say the
same vows to each other. You can add any
speeches, poems, songs, words or actions
you like. It can all be over in 15 minutes,
or last for hours.
Part of the fun of getting married is making
your wedding the way you want it to be.
I am happy to help plan and prepare with
you, and just as happy to get out of the
way and let you do it all! You tell me what
you want.
