Wacky and weird

Many of us, especially those drawn to the
alternate lifestyle of the Northern Rivers,
choose to be married in a completely unusual
way, just for the fun of being different.
I was married in a tree on the banks of a
wide river, wearing red. I know of weddings
in helicopters, in the surf, in stone circles,
beside a waterfall, on a volcano, with Buddhist
monks under a banyan tree, even in a cemetery.
Luckily the law allows any of these so long
as we fulfil the essential legal requirements
of a wedding ceremony.
We are free to create whatever experience
and memories you like!
I have participated in Celtic pagan rituals
in Britain, festivities with head hunting
hill tribes in the Philippines, Catholic
Saint's day fiestas, gypsy fairs in Spain,
Rastafarian church ceremonies in West Africa,
Buddhist blessings in Sri Lankan caves, Indian
Hindu pilgrimages, and familiar Christian
baptisms and funerals.
I can suggest the best aspects of these and
other rituals to help you find yours.

the world."
